Sometimes, there’s a bit of truth in a joke no matter how funny it may be.
Aziz Ansari proved that last night when he went on a bit that dragged award shows in general—all while he was receiving the Charlie Chaplin Britannia Award for Excellence In Comedy award at the 2017 AMD British Academy Britannia Awards last night.
“One thing I hate about honors is you can’t accept them from home,” he said, complaining about how the British awards were taking place in Los Angeles.
“I was in London! I met this lovely woman there, we were drinking flat whites, eating shepherd’s pie, riding the ‘tube,'” he said. “Who comes in and ruins my amazing British experience? The fucking BAFTAs!” …
